The Baskerville Arms was once more famously known as “The Swan” in the diaries of Reverend Francis Kilvert from the late 1800s. Nestled in the village of Clyro we are just a mile or so from the bustling town of Hay-on-Wye, known as the “Book capital of the World” .
But here in Clyro, the only thing that may disturb you are the sheep and the occasional cockrel!
We are lucky to be amongst some of the best unspoilt countryside in the UK; close to the Black Mountains, the Brecon Beacons and Offa’s Dyke path and within a short walking distance of the River Wye.
Spend your day in a canoe, cycling, pony riding or sight-seeing at the numerous attractions around Hay on Wye or walking the many ramblers routes.
Then come back to your comfortable ensuite accomodation in our quiet village where you can relax and enjoy dishes prepared by our chefs from fresh local produce, whilst maybe partaking in a real ale or two in the homely ‘locals bar’ atmosphere.
