Good Morning,
Central City Rollergirls (CCR) are a Birmingham based women’s Roller Derby team who have dedicated themselves to promoting the UK’s fastest growing sport.
Roller Derby is fast and exciting to watch and takes on the skills of a host of other sports including artistic/speed skating, athletics and rugby.
An important part of Roller Derby is our focus on health and fitness. We want to share this with our local community and encourage others to take up the sport. It is a sport that has fans from all age ranges and is accessible for all of the family (although you need to be 18+ to skate with CCR).
The basic rules can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2W2b1WBmm4
Last November heralded the first ever Roller Derby World Cup with CCR skaters travelling over to Toronto to represent Team England. With Roller Derby tipped to be entering the 2016 Olympics in Rio, we are offering you the chance to get ahead of the game and learn about this exciting sport.
Saturday 8th September, CCR will be taking on two brand new opponents, Bristol Roller Derby and Big Bucks High Rollers in a double header game.
