From time to time everyone needs a means of escape from the pressures of work and EasyWays offers that option by taking you to the great outdoors with the abundance of fresh air and wonderful scenery. So what is it that Easyways does I hear you say? Well, as the name suggests, EasyWays facilitates all accommodation and baggage transfer arrangements for people who walk the traditional routes around Scotland and NW England. Most people have heard of the West Highland Way but there are many other routes such as the Great Glen Way, from Fort William to Inverness alongside the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness or perhaps the gentler Fife Coastal Path leaving South Queensferry and ending up in historic St Andrews. EasyWays operates over 14 routes in total, providing in-depth knowledge of everything required to assemble a walk programme that can be as flexible for every need in terms of distance and duration. Routes are traversed over a number of days and therefore accommodation is required and depending on budget, this can range from top class hotels to a basic bunkhouse. Also, to enable walkers to travel without encumbrance, bags are forwarded to each stage in advance to await your arrival. Anyone can walk - from solo travellers to couples, family groups, groups walking in aid of charity and corporate groups on teambuilding, with reward for all in the form of a clean-up, change of clothes and hearty meal at the end of each day. Walking can be flexible. It may be that time constraint prevents a full week of walking so why not consider walking a part stage as an alternative or trying one of our short break walks in the Lake District. Activity holidays in general seem to be on the increase as witnessed by the number of bookings into EasyWays from all over the world and it is entirely possible that the weather might behave for the duration of your walk however, no matter the climate, the enjoyment of being in the great outdoors and meeting fellow international walkers with the challenge and achievement of completing a walk is good for the well-being and helps to somewhat de-fragment the mind in the process. There is no time for thinking about work as you pick your way across a running stream or, for that matter, through a field of cowpats so pack up your camera to capture some great memories and leave the iPod at home on charge to fully appreciate the wonderful sound of running water and birdsong overhead.
