Scudamore's introduced leisure-punting in Cambridge at the beginning of the 20th century. The activity was so popular with residents and Cambridge University students that by 1920 punting had become the number one boating activity on The Cam. To this day, both Scudamore’s and punting are globally recognised as synonymous with Cambridge and are considered to be the must-do activity when visiting the city.
